World Series 2024: Yankees Face Dodgers Showdown

In the 2024 MLB World Series, the New York Yankees face the Los Angeles Dodgers in a matchup not seen since 1981. On that occasion, the Dodgers took home the trophy thanks to the Mexican pitcher Fernando Valenzuela. Currently, players such as Shohei Ohtani, born in Japan, and Aaron Judge, born in the United States, stand out.

Shohei Ohtani signed with the Dodgers in 2023 for a 700 million dollar contract payable over 10 years. Currently, the Japanese player receives 3 million dollars a year from the Los Angeles team. According to Fox Sports, he will continue to receive this amount annually until 2033, with the rest to be paid over the next 10 years, regardless of whether he stays with the team or not.

On the other hand, Aaron Judge, center fielder for the New York Yankees, signed in 2013 and renewed his contract in 2023 for 340 million dollars payable over 9 years, with an annual salary of 40 million dollars. Although Judge currently earns more than Ohtani, in the long run the Dodgers player will have higher earnings than the Yankees player.

Regarding the development of the 2024 World Series, the Dodgers have won the first three games against the Yankees. The next matchup will take place on Tuesday, October 29, at Yankee Stadium, where the home team will seek victory to keep their championship hopes alive after losing the first games with the following results: Dodgers 6-3 Yankees (Game 1), Dodgers 4-2 Yankees (Game 2), and Dodgers 4-2 Yankees (Game 3).
